Sugar strengthens on sustained demand

Both variety of sugar prices continued to gain at Vashi wholesale market here today on sustained demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid good seasonal offtake.

Small sugar (S-30) hardened by Rs 32/20 to Rs 2,932/ 3,030 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,900/3,010.

Medium sugar (M-30) advanced by Rs 20 to Rs 3,012/3,142 as compared to Rs 2,992/3,122 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,932/3,030 (Rs 2,900/3,010).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,012/3,142 (Rs 2,992/3,122).
