Sultry weather conditions continue to prevail in most parts of Haryana and Punjab, a MeT department report said.
Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4 degrees Celsius today, even as high humidity levels prevailed here, it said.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 34.4 degrees Celsius. Hisar had a hot and humid day at 40 degrees Celsius while Narnaul recorded 40.3 degrees Celsius, the report said.

Amritsar in Punjab recorded a high of 38.6 degrees Celsius. Ludhiana and Patiala had maximum temperatures of 34.7 degrees Celsius and 35.5 degrees Celsius, respectively, it said.
The MeT has predicted rains or thundershowers over the next five days at many places in Haryana and Punjab.
