Swami Pranavananda booked for hurting religious sentiments

The Ullal police have booked Swami Pranavananda for allegedly promoting enmity between different communal groups and hurting religious sentiments.

Police said he was booked under under Section 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race etc), Section 298(uttering, words with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings) and Section 504(intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).

The case was charged based on a complaint filed by Ullal block Congress president Eshwar on December 7.

In the complaint he had said that the Hindu Mahasabha chief had used abusive words against state Health Minister U T Khadar and his community, during a protest at Gurpur junction in connection with the Ulaibettu clashes.
 

Six persons were injured in an attack on pilgrims bound for Datta Peetha at Ulaibettu on December 5.
