Swine flu claims 47 lives in Punjab

Swine flu has claimed 47 lives in Punjab so far this year, an official said here today.

As many as 47 people succumbed to H1N1 virus in Punjab, an official spokesperson of Punjab Health department said here.

The number of positive cases has reached 217 while the suspected number of patients are 526, he said.

Out of total 11 samples, one patient from Jalandhar was found positive for the virus, he said.

However, the officials maintained that the situation is under control.
