Talathi arrested by ACB

A village talathi (revenue clerk) was today arrested while taking a bribe of Rs 25,000 by the Palghar unit of Thane anti-corruption bureau.

DYSP Ajay Afle stated that the complaianant's brother had bought a land in Sasun Navghar village and he wanted the due change in the 7/12 extract.

Talathi Anant Baraf (37) demanded Rs 50,000 for the work.

After the complainant approached ACB, a trap was laid at Kings Resort at Sasun Navghar on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway and Baraf was arrested red-handed while taking Rs 25,000.
