Senior CPI(M) leader M Y Tarigami today condemned "indiscriminate" slapping of Public Safety Act (PSA) on the youth in Jammu and Kashmir and called for initiation of a "credible and structured" process of dialogue with all stakeholders to address the long-pending issue.
"We condemn indiscriminate slapping of PSA on the youth. The government need to ensure that the youth are not victimized by this draconian law.
"In most of the cases the Act is being slapped on the youth without grounds being substantive and valid which is generating resentment and anger among the masses who already feel deeply alienated.

"The random arrests being made across the state have germinated more mistrust and anger among the people especially the youth. It should be stopped and harassment of the people be put to an end," Tarigami said in a statement here.
He alleged the "atrocities" committed on the protesters and damages caused to residential houses by security forces is worsening the situation and making it more complex.
"CPI(M) is of considered opinion that in order to resolve the long pending issue, a credible and structured process of dialogue with all stakeholders has to be initiated urgently," Tarigami, who is also MLA said.
