TCA Anant was today given extension till January 2018 to continue working as Chief Statistician of India (CSI) and Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved extension of tenure of TCA Anant beyond June 29, 2015, until he attains the age of 60 years, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
Anant will have extended tenure till January 2018, officials said.
He was appointed as the CSI-cum-Secretary, MoSPI in June 2010 for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge of the post.
Anant was then working as Professor in Delhi School of Economics.
