Tea garden manager killed

An assistant manager of a tea estate in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district was hacked to death by a labourer today.

According to police, the labourer Sobhen Rana attacked the manager, Ajit Panowar (50) and hacked him to death at the Dolmor tea estate at Birpara.

The labourer was irked over the alleged attempt of the manager to molest his wife.

Rana then tried to kill himself and was admitted to the Birpara hospital in a serious condition.
