Tea garden workers, children protest nun gangrape

The tribal students and their parents who work in the tea gardens today took out a rally at Birpara and Binnaguri in Jalpaiguri to protest the gangrape of a septuagenarian nun.

The students, who are mostly Christians, walked in the rally that went through the tea gardens of Birpara and Binnaguri, the police said.

Some members of the protest rally carried burning candles and plackards to demand punishment for the culprits.

A septuagenarian nun was gangraped at Convent of Jesus and Mary School at Ranaghat in Nadia district on March 14.
