Unidentified assailants shot at and wounded a school teacher before looting Rs. 4.85 lakh from him in a village under Kargahar police station area in Bihar's Rohtas district today, a police officer said.
The incident took place in Kochdihra village as two motorcycle-borne assailants intercepted the primary school teach Gopal Tiwari, riding on another bike and shot at him from close range before looting the bag containing the cash, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ashish Anand said.
The injured teacher was rushed to the Sadar hospital for treatment, he said.

Tiwari, a teacher in a primary school in Ugrasen village, was going to his school to distribute scholarship and uniform money to the students a day after he had withdrawn the cash from a bank, the SDPO said.
A case has been registered in this connection and raids were being carried out to nab the culprits and recover the money, Anand said.
