Teenage boy killed in Meerut

A teenage boy was today killed

allegedly by three youths over some dispute, triggering tension in the city, police said.

Salman, Suhaib and Kadir have been arrested for killing 15-year-old Kaushik over an argument on phone, police spokesperson Om Prakash said.

Kaushik was missing since morning and his body was found in a canal, he said.

District Magistrate and SSP reached the spot with heavy police force to avert any negative fallout over the incident, Prakash said.

The body was sent for postmortem and a probe is on, he said.

Muzaffarnagar and its adjoining areas have been marred by violence and riots in the last few days.
