Teenage girl abducted

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly

abducted from Bhagike village of this district by a youth of the same village, police said today.

According to report lodged by the girl's father, Gurdas Singh abducted his daughter by promising to marry her when she was on way to a shop near his house last evening, police said.

When she did not return home, they searched for her but could not find her, the girl's father told police.

A search is on for the girl and the youth, they said.
