A 16-year-old student from Bihar, who was preparing for engineering entrance examinations, allegedly committed suicide by hanging from ceiling fan in his room in Mahaveernagar-I here, police said today.
Abhishek Kumar Yadav, a resident of Madhubani district, was this morning found hanging in his rented accommodation, Jawaharnagar police station Circle in-charge Harish Bharti said, adding, however, no suicide note was recovered.
Yadav came here around two years ago to prepare for entrance exams for engineering colleges but he had not enrolled in any coaching institute of the city, he said.
The reason behind his extreme step is yet to be ascertained, Bharti said.
The body was placed in the mortuary of the government hospital her for the postmortem which id to be carried out after his parents arrive here, the officer said.
Investigation into the matter is underway, he said.
