Police today recovered the body of a teenaged girl hanging from a ceiling fan at her residence in Ekbalpore area here.
Police personnel broke the door open to get into the room and recover her body, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
"She was immediately taken to SSKM Hospital where she was declared brought dead," he said, adding, that no suicide note was found inside her room.
The body has been sent for post mortem examination.
