Teenager dies after being hit by train

A 16-year-old boy died after being hit by a train near a local railway crossing here today, police said.

Harvinder Singh, a resident of Sirhind was crossing the railway track when he was hit by a train.

The body was taken to Civil Hospital for post mortem examination.

According to information received, Singh was living with his two sisters and mother, who was working as a domestic help.

The Government Railway Police had initiated proceeding under section 174 of CrPC.

As per GRP officials, Singh was mentally upset.
