Tension grips village after desecration of idols

Three idols were allegedly desecrated in a temple following which tension prevailed in Shairnagar village near here, police said today.

The trouble arose when people yesterday found the broken idols which led to angry protests, police said.

A case has been registered against unknown people, they said.

Additional police force has been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure and security has been tightened, they said.
