Lead prices weakened by 0.35 per cent to Rs 129.70 per kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed their positions amid subdued demand from battery-makers in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in October month declined by 45 paise, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 129.70 per kg in business turnover of 11 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in September contracts traded lower by 40 paise, or 0.31 per cent to Rs 129.35 per kg in 283 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by traders due to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market, mainly influenced lead prices at futures trade.
