Textile park to be set up in Haryana for Rs 181-cr: Gangwar

A textile park will be set up in Haryana at a cost of Rs 181 crore to promote the sector, Union Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar said today.

The Centre will give a subsidy of Rs 40 crore for the project, the minister of state for textiles said on the last day of the 'Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit 2016' here.

A Rs 14-crore Incubation Centre will also be set up to provide skill development to youths in the sector, he said at a session titled 'Haryana as Hub of Textiles, Apparel, Accessories and Leatherwear: Marking a Mark in the Global Landscape'.
 

Highlighting the potential of the sector, he said readymade garments industry in Haryana is growing at a rate of 25 per cent.

Gangwar said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also taking interest in the development of the sector.

He assured the entrepreneurs of full cooperation of his ministry for promotion of the industry.

Haryana's Industries and Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu said the state government has prepared Enterprises Promotion Policy-2015 to create a congenial atmosphere for promotion of the textile sector.

Under this policy, there is a transparent online clearance system. The government has also formulated a good labour welfare policy.

He added that incentives will be provided to entrepreneurs who set up their ventures in industrially backward areas.
