Shiv Sena, which has bagged 67 seats in the recently held Thane Municipal Corporation poll, today fielded Meenakshi Shinde for the post of Mayor.
The party also nominated Ramakant Madvi for Deputy Mayor's post.
The duo filed their nominations for the March 6 poll in presence of Maharashtra Minister Ekanth Shinde.
BJP, which has won 23 seats in the 131-member House, has fielded Ashadevi Singh for the Mayor's post and Mukesh Mokashi for the position of Deputy Mayor.
NCP, which won 34 seats, has fielded Asrin Raut for the post of Mayor and Arti Gaikwad for the position of Deputy Mayor.
