A Thane police team has started investigations into the reasons that led the former Chief of Tata Steel's Corporate Communications Charudatta Deshpande to commit suicide in his Vasai home in Thane.
A five-member Thane police team has arrived and are recording statements of the staff and officials of the corporate communication department one after another regarding the environment around Deshpande's workplace here and his professional relationship with the staff members.
Confirming the investigation, company sources said today that they were co-operating with the investigating team in the probe.

Earlier, a six-member team had grilled the Tata Steel officials for five days in connection with Deshpande's death in July last.
An FIR had been registered against a top Tata Steel official for allegedly abetting the suicide of Charudatta Deshpande, former chief of Corporate Communications, who was found hanging at his Vasai home here on June 28 this year.
