The district officials here have
been asked to inspect the field of a farmer in Tenkarai in this district where horticulture crops raised in five acres of land got damaged following leak in the coat bed methane gas pipe.
According to the officials they had rushed to spot on a complaint from the farmer, who had also demanded compensation for the crop loss caused by the gas leak.
The district collector crops could have been damaged due to chemical effluents. They would hold talks with the ONGC officials and sort out the issue.
