The total sittings should be 50 days annually : JH Speaker

Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon today said the total sittings of the House in a year should be fifty days that would help take up issues relating to the people.

In his valedictory speech on the last day of the Winter Session, Oraon said the budget session should run at least for thirty days with ten days each for Monsoon and Winter Sessions.

"...It is necessary for a poor and backward state like Jharkhand," he said.

The government finds easier to take decisions on the issues raised in the House and the members' suggestions on them, ensuring the government's accountability to the legislature.
