: A theatre group here has planned a four-day festival of dramas of noted Malayalm playwright Omecheri from September 25 as a tribute to the nonagenarian dramatist.
According to office-bearers of "Natyagruham", a city-based voluntary theatre movement, najor dramas as well as light plays of Omecheri would be staged during the event.
The plays selected for the festival are produced by various amateur groups in different parts of Kerala.

Plays of Omcheri (N N PIllai) stand out for their modernism, political insight, humanism and stinging humour, Prof Aliyar, Chairman of "Natyagruham", said.
Living in Delhi for decades, Pillai has held senior positions in various media wings of the Union Government.
Apart from staging of plays, seminars on drama as a literary genre and stage craft will als be held on the sidelines of the event.
Eminent film-maker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, writers and theatre personalities would make presentations during the festival.
