With the arrest of a 20-year-old
youth, Delhi Police today claimed to have solved a case of house theft committed in Prasad Nagar area here.
Mohit alias Mannu was arrested from his house at Bapa Nagar in Karol Bagh. Rs 3.5 lakh cash and some silver jewellery were recovered from his possession, police said.
On May 31, one Sushma reported at Prasad Nagar police station that on May 25 she along with her family had gone to her in-laws house at Manakpura Sabzi Mandi. When she returned, she found Rs 7,30,000 cash, some gold and silver jewellery and one mobile phone missing.
"During the course of investigation, Mohit alias Mannu emerged as the prime suspect. On June 23, a raid was conducted at Mohit's house which lead to the recovery of Rs 3.5 lakh cash and some silver jewellery," DCP (Central District) Alok Kumar said.
