Thoor, gram dal prices harden, others flat

The prices of thoor and gram dal moved up while those of other commodities ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrain market here during the week ended today.

Thoor dal prices rose Rs 1,000 per quintal to Rs 16,800 on Monday from its last week's closing rate of Rs 15,800 and maintained the same trend till today.

Gram dal opened the week at Rs 6,500, an increase of Rs 100 per quintal, from its last week's closing rate of Rs 6,400. The price stayed at Rs 6,500 through out the week.

Prices of urad dal (Rs 15,200), moong dal (Rs 11,500), sugar (Rs 3,000), wheat (Rs 3,000), maida (90 kg) Rs 2,500 and sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,200) ruled steady throughout the week.
