Three armed robbers arrested in Uttar Pradesh

Police have arrested three alleged armed robbers and seized weapons from their possession after a brief encounter here, police said today.

They were arrested under Titawi police station yesterday, Station house officer Sube Singh said.

The police said they have seized two pistols along with one licensed rifle which the accused allegedly looted from the house of a retired police official.

"On September 30, the robbers had raided the house of retired police head constable Vijay Pal and looted his rifle along with some cash," the official said.

According to the police, the accused has confessed to their crime.
