Three arrested for illicit liquor trade

Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police has arrested three persons involved in an illicit liquor trade, from Gorakhpur district, police said today.

Jitendra Kumar Srivastava, Baccha Singh and Birbal Yadav were arrested by the STF yesterday from Gorakhpur, based on a tip-off, IG, STF Ashish Gupta told reporters here.

He said the STF had received information that a gang was making illicit liquor in the name of 'Laila' brand made by a distillery in Gorakhpur.

The STF also recovered a number of bottles, stickers, spirit and other items.
