Three persons including the chairwoman of Women and Child Welfare department of Osmanabad Zilla Parishad were today caught by the Anti Corruption Bureau for accepting a bribe of Rs 22,000 from a contractor.

Lata Anil Pawar, chairwoman of Women and Child Welfare Department, her personal assistant Pandurang Vedpathak and Annasaheb Madhekar, a medical shop owner, were caught red-handed in a trap laid at ZP office, police said.

Pawar and Vedpathak had demanded bribe from a Pune-based contractor who provided flex boards for Beti Bachao Mission as a quid-pro-quo for not initiating inquiry into quality of the material he used.

The complainant, who had bagged the flex board contract for Rs 11.66 lakh, then approached the ACB.
