Three college students drown in canal

Three polytechnic college students drowned today when they were taking bath in the Lower Bhavani Project Main Canal near here, police said.

Ten students of the private polytechnic at Vaikkalmedu, about 35 five KM from here, went to the nearby canal around 4 pm. While taking bath, three of them were washed away.

Police and Fire and Rescue Service personnel traced the body of one of the students about one KM away from the place of incident. The search was on for the other two.
