Three persons were critically injured and five others received minor injuries when a bus they were travelling went off the road in Meghalaya's South Garo Hills district, the police said.
Three passengers were critically injured and were taken to the Baghmara civil hospital, while those hurt were administered first aid at a local health centre, district SP L Syiem told PTI.
The Baghmara-bound bus from Maheshkhola in the district went off the road at Panda near Rongara at around 2:30 PM, he said.
Panda is about 17 kms from Baghmara.
While the reason for the mishap is unknown, the Police said the driver absconded from the scene after the accident.
