Three-day Intl conference from May 14

All aspects of minimally invasive surgery, from basic to advance procedures including surgery of Gastro Intestinal cancers, will be deliberated at the 8th Edition of International Conference and Workshop on Laparoscopic Surgery, beginning here from May 14.

About 30 procedures for various cancer treatments and surgeries will be telecast from the GEM Hospital and Research Centre, the organisers, to CODISSIA Hall, the venue, during the three-day conference, LAPAROSURG-2015 Dr C Palanivelu, Chairman of the hospital told reporters here today.

Stating that over 1,500 surgeons and gynaecologists from

all over India and abroad are participating in the conference, he said that delegates from Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia and Gulf countries have confirmed their entries.
 

International faculty form seven countries, including USA, France, Korea and Japan, will enrich the scientists content of the conference, while 75 National faculty from all part of the country will deliberate the recent advance in laparoscopic surgery, he said.

As part of the silver jubilee celebrations of introducing laparoscopic surgery in this region, the hospital has planned to perform free cancer surgeries every month to the needy and poor.

To identify the needy, screening camps will be held on every Sunday of the month, where free consultation will be held at the hospital and selected patients will be offered laparoscopic treatment at free or concessional rate, Palanivelu said.

Incorporating with the main conference, the two -day 5th International Conference and Live workshop on Enmdogynecology will be held from May 15 and the 2nd national conference and training in laparoscopy for nurses on May 17, he said.
