Three family members found dead

Three members of a family, including two girls, were found dead in Sarai Fakir locality under Sadar Kotwali police station area in the wee hours today, police said here.

The assailants slit throats and veins leading to the death of Shakil Ahmed (45), his niece Saira (24) and Ayesha (16), SSP Dalbir Singh Yadav said.

Ruling out loot as the motive behind the crime as the victims were not very well off, the SSP said that rape can be one of the reasons and more details would be known only after post mortem examination.

Efforts were on to trace the killers, the SSP added.
