Three people were feared drowned during Durga Idol immersion at Akbarpur Seng ghat of river Ganga, about 60 km from here, police said today.
People of Rasulpur village had gone for the immersion at the ghat in Bilhaur yesterday when Suraj (19), Chhote Pal (43), Sishupal(49), and Ramratan(46) slipped into the river, police spokesperson said.
Divers and locals managed to rescue Ramatan, while the three others were feared drowned, he added.

Police and divers threw net in the river and continued the search operation till late night, but failed to located them, the spokesperson said.
Search operation have been stepped up today to find the trio, he added.
