Three from Karnataka drowned in sea

Three persons of a family, part of a 14-member group from Karnataka, drowned while taking bath in the sea at Kappad beach near here, police said today.

Indhudhar (24), his father Venkatanarayanan (51) both from Mysore and his uncle R V Venkatesh (51) from Bangalore were on a tour to Kerala along with others, they said.

The trio had gone into the sea while taking bath last evening and started drowning. On hearing their screams of others, fishermen nearby areas brought them ashore.

They were rushed to a hospital at a nearby town but could not be saved, police said, adding.
