A local court has sentenced three persons to life imprisonment for killing a farmer at a village in the district over six years back.
The convicts -- Babulal, Veer Singh, and Shivpal -- had murdered farmer Narayan Lodhi over a land dispute at the latter's agricultural field in Chilmanpurwa village of the district on February 23, 2009.
Holding the trio guilty under section 302 IPC (murder), Second Additional Sessions Judge Shashikanta Vaishya yesterday sentenced them to life imprisonment, Assistant Government Prosecutor Rishi Bilthare said today.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on each of them, he said.
