Three girls drowned in canal

Three minor girls drowned today in a canal in Madhepura district after they slipped into it.

Shanti Kumari (9), Pinki Kumari (10) and Renu Kumari (12) died after they fell into the canal while arranging fodder for cattle, SDO Deepak Kumar said.

An ex-gratia payment under disaster management scheme will be provided to families of each victim, he said.
