Three held for betting in World Cup match

Three persons were today arrested from a flat in Kolambe area here on charges of betting during a cricket World Cup match between India-Bangladesh, police said today.

A police team raided the flat last evening and first took into custody a man who was there and the others were picked up based on the information obtained from him, they said.

Rs 3.88 lakh, a television set, four mobile phones and a diary among others have been recovered from their possession, police said.

The arrested persons were later produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody, they added.
