Three persons were today arrested for possessing two country made guns in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve, forest officials said.
Officials said they noticed three persons entering Thookanaickkenpalayam forest area under STR, riding a motorcycle.
On suspicion, the officials intercepted the motorcycle and frisked the trio, during which they recovered two country made guns, a knife and a torch light.
On questioning, the three identified as Subramani (38), Palanisamy (43) and Sathyaraj (23) and hailing from Erode district, confessed to having entered the forest area for carrying out poaching, the officials said.
The weapons were seized and they were arrested, they added.
