Three killed, 5 injured in road accident

Three persons were killed and five others injured when a SUV hit a stationary truck on NH2 near Shaktigarh in West Bengal's Burdwan district midnight last night.

Police said the dead included the driver and two passengers, one of them a woman.

A family was returning in the vehicle to North 24 Parganas district from Muzaffarpur in Bihar where they had gone to attend a funeral, the police said.

The security personnel rushed to the spot and rushed the three to the hospital. Two of them were later admitted to a hospital in Kolkata.
