An SUV overturned today after suffering a tyre burst near Hariharpur in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district, killing three persons and injuring six others, four of them critically, police said.
The occupants of the SUV were returning after attending a programme in Bara village in adjoining Rewa district.
"The accident occurred after one of the tyres of the SUV, which was travelling at the speed of 60 kmph, burst, following which the vehicle overturned at least three times," said Sabhapur police station in-charge RP Tiwari.
He said local villagers rushed to the spot immediately after the incident and called up police.
The deceased are identified as Amit Singh (45), Upendra Singh (35), and Buti Singh (35), all residents of Lakhanwah village of Satna, he said.
The six injured persons were first taken to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Birsinghpur Hospital, from where the four critically injured were referred to the district hospital at Satna.
