Three killed in firing

Three persons, including a

woman, were killed and four others seriously injured when some men opened fire at a group of people in Assam's Nagaon district, police said today.

The assailants came in a vehicle to Rupohigeruati area and fired at the group, killing two persons on the spot and injuring five others late last night.

The injured were rushed to a hospital where one of them, a woman, succumbed to injuries.

Police today spotted the vehicle moving around Haibargaon area of the town and asked its occupants to stop but they fired at the security personnel in a bid to escape.
 

However, police chased the vehicle and arrested two persons.
