Three new ministers inducted into Manipur Cabinet

Three new ministers were today inducted into O Ibobi Singh's Cabinet in Manipur following resignation of three veteran ministers.

The new ministers who have been given Cabinet rank are, Ksh Biren (Lamlai), T Manga Vaiphei (Henglep), and D K Korungthang (Tengnoupal-ST ).

They were administered the oath of secrecy by Governor V Shanmuganathan at a ceremony in the Raj Bhavan this afternoon, an official press release said.

They replace Forest and Revenue Minister Th Devendro Singh, Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungzathang Tonsing and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Francis Ngajokpa who tendered their resignation yesterday, it said.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief Minister, Deputy CM, state Congress president, MLAs and other senior government officials, the release stated.
 

The reshuffle came in the wake of 20 Congress legislators voicing dissatisfaction over the functioning of the ministers. The size of the ministry remains at 12, a Congress spokesperson said.

The present position of parties in the 60 member House is, Congress 47, Trinamool Congress five, BJP two, Naga People's Front four, NCP one, Lok Janshakti Party one.
