Three persons were arrested for allegedly attacking a police Head Constable and relieving of his mobile phone and walkie-talkie today at a village near Modakurichi in the district, police said.
Dhanakodi, attached to Modakurichi Police station, during patrol duty noticed three persons consuming liquor at a public place at Parisalthurai area near Lakkapuram this evening and asked them to leave the place immediately.
But, the trio allegedly pounced on him, attacked him and fled from the spot after snatching away his mobile Phone and Walkie-talkie, they said.
The Head Constable has been admitted to the Goverment Hospital here.
