A seven member gang including three students had been arrested for their involvement in a dacoity in Kinathukadavu on the city outskirts last week and two and half sovereigns of gold jewellery and other articles worth about Rs four lakh recovered from them , police said today.
One of them was arrested on the day of the robbery itself after a chase.
Further investigations led to the arrest of six more persons, Sudhagar, Superintendent of Police, told reporters.

Besides the gold jewellery, eight silk sarees, a silver lamp and other articles, worth about Rs four lakh were recovered, he said.
One of the students was studying in a law college in Bengaluru, the second student in Madurai Law college and the third was studying in an arts college in Madurai, he said.
All the accused were hailing from Sivaganga district and were involved in 10 such cases in and around the city, including one in Chettipalayam from where they stole a gun and was used to threaten the inmates during dacoity, the official said.
An armed gang looted seven sovereigns of gold jewellery and cash from a house at Kinadhukadavu on October 14 after threatening the inmates at gunpoint and locked them inside a room.
The gang, who were moving on Pollachi-Palakkad Road, stopped and abandoned the car, after seeing a police partol.
