Three students drown in Ganga

Three engineering students drowned today while taking bath in Ganga river here, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Shubham Jain, Shaurya Sharma and Anshul Pal, students of Ambedkar Engineering College, the police said.

The incident took place when three-all aged between 19 to 21, had gone to take a bath in Ganga river here. While taking bath, they started to drown. Seeing this, divers present there tried to save them but they could not be saved, SSP Shalabh Mathur said.

"After three hours, all of them were fished out of the river and taken to medical college where doctors declared them brought dead," he said.
 

Parents of the deceased have been informed and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
