Three travel agents were booked in the district for allegedly duping people in the garb of sending them abroad, police said here today.
Two separate cases of duping money by the fake travel agents had been registered in Sadar and Model Town police stations in the district, police said.
All the three accused are absconding, they added.

Baldev Raj of Bhawani Nagar, alleged that Gurdial Singh of Akash Colony and Mohinder Pal of Nangal Shaheedan, took Rs 7 lakh and passport of his son for sending him to Japan, police said.
But neither did they send his son to Japan nor did they return his money, they said.
In another case Vinod Kumar of Basti Tirathnath,Jalandhar, allegedly took Rs 1.60 lakh from Sunil Kumar of Kamalpur, for sending the latter to Italy, police said.
But Vinod Kumar failed to fulfil his promise and did not return the money to Sunil Kumar, police said.
