Tiger attacks villager

A Royal Bengal tiger, suspected to have strayed from Kaziranga National Park, attacked and seriously injured a man in Assam's Karbi Anglong district today.
The tiger attacked the man while he was working in his garden at Bashakrand village in Dolamara range of Karbi Anglong Forest Division, range officer of the division Prahlad Kro said.
The man received injuries on his hands and shoulders and was shifted to Diphu civil hospital in a critical condition.
The tiger has moved away from the area but forest guards are keeping a strict vigil in the area, Kro added.
