A tiger cub was killed after it was allegedly attacked by buffaloes in the buffer zone of the famous Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR), a senior forest official said today.
The cub was killed after it was hit by angry buffaloes after a tigress had killed one of the wild animals, BTR director Mridul Pathak said.
The tigress had killed a buffalo following which a group of buffaloes attacked them and in the process horns of one of it pierced into the body of a cub killing the young one on the spot, Pathak said.
However, the exact cause of the death will be known after post-mortem, the official added.
