A 30-year-old man was today killed by a tiger when he was catching crabs near the Sunderbans in West Bengal's 24 Parganas (South) district.
Sekhar Biswas (30) and two others were catching crabs at Pirktali when a tiger attacked them, police said, adding, the animal caught Biswas in his jaws and was about to drag him to the forest but his accomplices managed to pull him out.
He was admitted to Boraba Block Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Earlier, on August 7, one Bhagabati Mandal was also killed by a tiger when he was catching crabs in a nearby area.
