A tiger was sighted in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR) in this district, forest officials said today.
Selvan, a farmer spotted the tiger, which mauled his sheep to death in Jeerahalli forest settlement area in Thalawady forest range yesterday.
When he raised an alarm, the Tiger ran away leaving behind the goat carcass, they said.
On receiving information, the officials reached the spot and inspected the place and found foot prints of the animal.
A case has been registered and investigation is on, forest officials said.
